One of the true pioneers of this, before it was considered something to have been “pioneered”, is Rock Island Tennessee native Jase Bouldin. Musky angling is challenging enough as is, and while many of the finer fisheries are best accessed by paddlecraft, many jump in feet first into kayak fishing without consideration to the idiosyncrasies it entails both in advantages and challenges. Before it was a movement however, a few savvy individuals were utilizing the craft as a means to creatively access waters otherwise untouched and organically developed the unique skills and traits it allows for presentation. Like so many trends, however, once it is embraced by the cox populi, it often gets riddled with the nastiness of enthusiasm in being apart of a new movement.

I compete in the Mid-Atlantic Kayak Bass Fishing Series tournament trail and dig traveling to do battle with my friends and kayak fishing family around the nation. I currently live in MD and enjoy fishing the entire Mid-Atlantic region. I now work with the MD chapter of Heroes on the Water and the Reel American Heroes Foundation in VA to help other vets and first responders find that same peace of mind through therapeutic time on the water.

As an Army veteran with almost 10 years on Active Duty prior to being medically separated, kayak fishing has provided me with a way to get away from it all and enjoy the serenity and peace of mind that only Mother Nature can provide. I purchased my first Jackson Kayak Big Tuna shortly after moving to MD several years ago and was instantly hooked on the family atmosphere that is our community. I am a proud father of four awesome kiddos and have been married to my beautiful wife for over 12 years now. Growing up all over Southern Cali, I have spent a great deal of time learning new waters and constantly seeking growth. Having been introduced to the addiction at the age of 3 by my pops, I have been an avid angler most of my life.
